We are living in an amazing time. Something that seemed to be very difficult in the past now becomes affordable and simple. The tasks for which it was necessary to create research institutes and large organizations now are solved by self-organized groups of enthusiasts. Enthusiasts create maps and encyclopedias, make movies and develop software. I want to tell you about the area in which this fresh wind of change is still not blowing in full force – it is the weather. And we want to change that by our project – OpenWeatherMap!

Don’t Let Bad Weather Ruin your Holiday

Many people look forward to the holiday period all year round. Escaping to the beach, camping at summer festivals, embarking on an adventure holiday… however you like to spend your precious time out, one thing is usually certain; you’ll be keeping your fingers crossed for good weather. In fact, for a lot of people, the weather can mean the difference between a good holiday and a bad holiday. A survey in the UK this year found that 35% mums were dreading the summer holidays due to the almost inevitable bad weather keeping their kids indoors.
